Economic Impact of Engagement with Taiwan and China
What is the cost of engaging with Taiwan when the possibility of backlash from China looms? That is a political as much an economic calculation that is often made as diplomatic rivalry between the ROC and PRC continues to increase. Yet it is unclear whether Beijing has been able to deliver on its promises of greater gains compared to those that could be offered by Taipei. In a recent study, leading Taiwanese scholars assess the economic as well as social impact of engagement between the two sides for emerging markets across the globe.
